Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your Atchafalaya Basin swamp tour. Still have a question? Call us at 337-228-7880 or contact us.
How long is a swamp tour?
Airboat, traditional, and private tours each last about 1.5 hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign the waiver, use the restroom, and grab a life vest.
How much does a tour cost?
Airboat tours are $65 for adults and $39 for children 10 and under. Traditional swamp boat tours are $39 for adults and $25 for children 10 and under. Private tours start at $650 per boat, and group rates are available by phone. U.S. active, reserve, and veteran military members receive a $5 discount on all tours.
Where are you located?
We're at 1377 Henderson Levee Rd, Henderson, LA 70517 — in the heart of Cajun Country in St. Martin Parish, on the levee of the Atchafalaya Basin, a short drive from Breaux Bridge and Lafayette.
How do I book a tour?
Book online through our reservation page or call 337-228-7880. Payment is due at booking, and we ask for 24 hours notice for cancellations.
Should I wear sunscreen?
All of our boats have a custom canopy, so sunscreen is at your discretion — but check the weather forecast before your tour. Small bottles of sunscreen are available for purchase in our general store.
Is hearing protection required on airboat tours?
Yes. For the safety and comfort of all passengers, we recommend everyone, regardless of age, wear hearing protection while the airboats are in motion. There are stops along the tour where you can remove your headphones or earplugs to enjoy informative talks from our experienced guides.
Are life jackets required?
Passengers 16 and under are legally required to wear life vests on airboat tours; for adults they are optional. Life vests are stowed under your seat for your convenience and safety.
Should I bring bug or mosquito spray?
Surprisingly, you won't need bug or mosquito spray during the day — mosquitoes are less present and less aggressive in daylight hours.
Can we bring food and drinks on the boat?
Absolutely! You're welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages, and we also offer a variety of snacks and drinks for purchase in the general store.
Is there a bathroom on the airboat?
No, there are no bathrooms on the airboat. We recommend using the restroom before the tour, as there are no breaks during the 1.5-hour ride.
